upstream bandwidth & banned issues...HELP!

This is crazy....I've been playing Halo reach for almost a year now and just the last few days I start to get kicked from every match making game. Always says...selecting new host and then GAME OVER, I get points, but everyone else is still playing the game. Then I get banned.  Nothing has changed on my end in terms of Internet service, speed, modem. I've changed nothing. I reached out to xbox and bungie...they gave me several things to try and nothing works....I know it MUST be something on their end and I know I am not the only one with this issue because I see it  posted in several forums....can anyone help? I have not been able to play a full game of Halo Reach matchmaking for the last 5 days.

There are  two things I can think of there.

.

1) Your connection is dodgy and you're dropping out a lot. This used to happen to me, and it will definitely lead to you being banned. It could be your router or modem, but I can't say. That simply is a possibility worth mentioning.

2) You annoyed someone who's now booting you offline for revenge. This could be more likely if you play high-level Halo, you have irritated someone, and you haven't changed anything. I haven't seen this in Reach, yet, but I see it a lot playing H3.

Where do you live? If you live on or near the east coast of the United States, there's a good chance you're being effected by the results of hurricane Irene. There are still millions of people without power and spotty power, which crews are trying to fix. This means there will be some interference with phone lines and cell signals which could cause internet connections to be skippy.

If you are nowhere near the effected range of the storm, you may be playing with someone who is. Or it could be something else entirely which would need further investigation. You may want to check all of your internet settings and contact your internet service provider if you continue to experience the problem within the next weeks.

The ban is unfortunate, and probably not your fault if your story is true. You'd need to contact 343 Industries regarding that issue. They can undo the suspension if you are found to be innocent. However, a guilty conviction will lead to harsher punishment.

Give it some time, check your stuff. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon! Good luck!

EDIT: Ah, hello CSB. Who else but the two of us would find ourselves being the first 2 posters in a thread of this nature? :D

Too true :P

.

The only thing we need now is for Albino to come in saying he's sorry he's late and bringing another in-depth discussion, and then it really would be a stereotypical connection thread : )

.

I didn't even think of the hurricane, but that's a good point, and a fairly likely thing indeed.

I hate to go here, but ever since 343 'took over' the servers MM has been dodgy for me too. (East coast, North Florida) Slow loads, black screens, vote resets. I got dropped like 5 times one night and I haven't had connections that bad since I was borrowing WiFi from my neighbor across the street.
