I can’t play Xbox Original games

Hi all,

I've tried all the steps in this article:

http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/8/t/25.aspx

...with no luck and now I'm stuck with a game I paid for that I can't play. :/

What game are you trying to play?  Halo: Combat Evolved
Is it a disc or downloaded version? Downloaded
What type of console are you using? XBOX 360 Original
What size HDD are you using? 250Gb
What error code or message are you receiving? "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again.  For more help visit www.xbox.com/support"

On a side note, I've also tried playing another game "Star Wars KoTOR" and I've recieved the same error message.

Thanks in advance for the help everyone!

Is the hard drive an official MS hard drive?

I know what your going through, today I tried all my original games that a while ago I could play. The games I tries are: Halo 2, Crimson Skies, Spiderman 2 and my personal favorite Star Wars Battlefront 2! I have no idea why they dont work anymore but I'm hoping it's temporary.

If you bought the HDD new from a certified retailer (that is you didn't buy it from a friend or site such as eBay or Craigslist), then I suggest borrowing an HDD from a friend to try on your console, to see if the same issue occurs. If it does not occur, then we'll know the issue is with the HDD, and not the console or game.
