Finding old Xbox Live friend's.

Well, I went off Xbox Live for a year at least and when I came back on Xbox Live, most of the people that I was friend's with had removed me as a friend probably because they thought I was not going to be going back on Xbox Live again. I understand why they did it, but because I cant remember their Gamertags, I have no chance of finding them again. So I think Microsoft should make a friend's history on Xbox Live just like the download history except it tell's you who you were friends with during your time on Xbox Live. It would help so many people to find old friend's they use to play with. If you ever did happen to be friend's with me or know someone that was friend's with me, add me as a friend please

I understand what you mean OP but if they did remove you I doubt they would remember your gamer tag after such a long time. My only gripe is that if users get a "former friends history" tab on Live then they might abuse it for other means ala stalking (not implying that you would). Honestly it would be a feature with both pros and cons.

I've been out on vacation quite a few times and when I logged back in I saw my friend count drop a person or two. It would make sense to ask them why, however if you barely played or chatted/messaged a certain user then I suggest moving on. Maybe you played with him/her a few times and never again, so yeah.

If it helps you should write down all of your friends names somewhere in case you forget who removed you.

Yeah I know what you mean but I just was not online at the time so therefore was not able to take down their names. Yeah it would have its cons and pros, but it would help alot of people who are looking for old friends. But sure the download history that we have, I doubt many people even use it to be honest. I might just take your advice and take down their names just in case something ever happens. Thanks again

I agree, a friend history is a bad idea. Would track too many stalkers. Write down the gamertags is the best way :)

Yeah I know it could create alot of problems but there should be a way of finding old friends without creating a problem like. Just an opinion like, but yous are also right in saying it will cause problems with some people and the best way could be just to take the names down somewhere. Thanks for your opinion though

There was once this guy when I first joined Xbox Live years back.. I got banned 'cause I put '(name) is gay' in my bio.. I remember I spoke with him for a few weeks a month after that and then he vanished.. He added me again like a year later then vanished.. and I can't think of his god damn name..

I agree with you so much.

Yeah thats what I mean like, Im in the exact same situation as you because you cant find the person your were friends with and you enjoyed talking to just because you cant remember their gamertag. Im really annoyed because I went offline and all my friends were gone but the people I really talked to, I had no way of finding them. I only found some of them because their gamertags were really easy to remember or guess like. Its really annoying though and thats why I feel they should have a friends history because people will actually use it. Well I do hope you find the person you gamed with and talked to. Thanks for the reply

I've had xbox live for 9 years, I think about 3 people have been on my list from the start. I wish I could track down some of the ones lost.

Yeah that's the way I am as well Chicago CM. Like if you could track them, at least you could add them again and talk to the people you enjoy playing with while communicating with them. Yeah your right there TorX Zone, people do come and go but its quite annoying when they go off your friend list because you were offline for a while and you cant remember their Gamertags which means you cant find them ever again unless they have the exact same Gamertag and remember your Gamertag, which leads to them adding you. Thanks for your opinions though

how about let's say you get hacked and xbox live people help you to get your account back but when you do get you account back all your friend that you had are all go. They should come up with a system somehow you can track you old friend's i know it sound weird or wrong. I am not implying nothing just say that this kind of thing has happened to me personally.
