Disk drive failure?

Does anyone know if disk drive failures are still common in the newer xbox? I bought a 250 GB Slim a year ago. The last week or so I've been getting random unable to read disk messages. It started with Gears Judgement Day. (which was brand new) and now NBA 2k13 is doing it. It even does it in the middle of games at times. I don't know, this is my 5th or 6th xbox now. It's seriously been so many I lost count. I hope it's just something with my game. But I doubt it. I take good care of my games. Always in cases, always hold them by the edges.. I bought the new slim because it was suppose to be fixed of all these issues. It will probably be the last Xbox that I ever buy if this thing craps out on me again

[/quote]It's either your disk rive or a bad sector on your HDD, if you search google you may find a work around to shift your games on to a section of your HDD that is not broken, I remember someone posting a way to do it on these forums, it involved deleting the games that crash and replacing them with other content then re-installing them, I can't remember the exact procedure.

It's only a work around and won't fix the HDD, but it should allow you to play those games (providing it's not the disk drive at fault).

Ugh I hate this stuff, my recommendation is to install all games, disc drive has less issues then. But it might be too late for this Xbox, I would contact support there are some tricks they can do, and I'm not sure but they might fix it for free if it's only a year old and it's busted.

I installed the games that have been giving me issues. Hopefully that helps. If not, I guess I'll call MS and hope they fix it for free if I can find a fix. Thanks
