Permanent "orange-bar"

my NAT settings are open... internet speed is 50Mb/s down, 5 Mb/s up... my connection is NOT wireless (xbox cable straight to modem)

yet i'll often be in a game (left 4 dead 1&2) where i am the ONLY ONE with an orange bar connection, while everyone else shows green...

and if i host, the best i get is orange..

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

also, i'm not tech savvy, so keep that in mind also...

thanks in advance

How many devices are using your internet? (Smartphone, Computer, Laptop, Other Xbox's etc.) if you do have any try turning them off and see if this makes a difference you also may be getting in games where the host is from a different country or, they have a bad connection

Just because your ISP tells you that you get 50dl/5ul doesn't mean you actually get it. The best way to determine your internet speed is via speedtest.net.

Does this only happen in L4D/L4D2 or does it happen in ALL of your games? If it only happens in those games then it is either an issue on their end or you need to have the correct ports opened up on your router for those games. If you don't use a router then you need to contact your ISP and have them open the ports on your modem for you (unless you can access the modem settings-some ISP's allow this). Go to Portforward.com to see what ports those games need.

You mentioned you have wired your XBOX360 directly to your Router, try to change your ethernet cable and/or use a different port on the router.

...for example, when i play black ops, i get full green connection, even when playing with people form europe.

and as far as port-forwarding goes, i was already at their website, but i dont want to shell out $30+ dollars if i dont know FOR SURE that that is the problem.

if it IS the port-forwarding, i'll gladly pay

You don't have to pay for the port forwarding site, just click SKIP THIS AD in the top right corner of that page.
