I find myself in a frustrating situation, and I was hoping I could get some help with it.

At the start of this month I heard that this week there was going to be a special on mass effect 2 DLC so I went out and bought a pre-paid 1600 microsoft point card (I don't like linking my credit card to accounts because I'm paranoid about being hacked). Time went by, and last Wednesday (jul 20) I went to visit my father in LA for a week. I returned yesterday to find that (drum roll) my account had been hacked, my language changed to Russian, my gold subscription transferred to somewhere in Russia, my "latest played game" was Battlefield, which I've never played, and of the 1600 points I bought only 80 were left. I've looked through my email and windows live ID, neither of which show any signs of having been broken into, with their 12 and 15 character passwords respectively, which leaves me clueless as to how they managed to hijack my account in the first place. The damage was done however, and now my account is being investigated for the next 20 days in order to determine what happened. Because the investigation will take so long I was informed that once it was over the 1600 points would be returned, and I would receive a free month of gold to compensate for this one. That is all well and good because I'm going to be out of town and without internet from about an hour from now until next Wednesday as I visit my mother, who doesn't have internet because quite frankly she doesn't understand technology (this woman once used yahoo to search for google to search for yahoo mail). So, my problem is that by the time the investigation is through and I can recover my points, the sale on the mass effect 2 dlc will be over, which was the reason I bought the microsoft points in the first place. Ironically, it was probably the microsoft points which made my account such an enticing target to begin with. It reads like some kind of first-world-problems greek tragedy. *sigh* So, can you help me out?

I'm sorry to hear all that. Is there anyone else who might have had access to your console or account? Either way, call up phone support in your region (support.xbox.com/.../contact-us.aspx) immediately and set up an Unauthorized Access claim. They'll investigate the issue and take the appropriate action.

Man this really is a sticky situation to be in. My suggestion: buy the DLC on another GT, and you can use it on any other GT on the same console. No, you won't be able to get the points on another GT, but at least you can buy it while it's on sale.

[/quote]The DLC wasn't the OP's problem.  The problem is that he had the MS Points that were intended for that content stolen.  He can't "buy the DLC on another GT" when the MS Points are no longer there.

OP, contact phone support, and ask to investigate an "unauthorised access case".  Also, change the Windows Live ID on the account as soon as you can.

Reading the original post, I think the primary complaint is missing out on the sale. Buying the content with another profile means the primary profile will be able to use it once it's unlocked after the investigation. Though yes, more Points would have to be acquired.
