expiring gold account and msp.

my gold account expires in august and due to the modding on call of duty titles,the only games i tend to play online,i am not renewing it.i enquired as to what happens to my account status,if it reverts to silver or do i have to restart with another account,but i was wondering what happens to the microsoft points that are on the account.i do not want to lose them as they cost a lot as i was intending to buy the waw map packs but again due to the modding i didn`t think it was worth bothering. can you please confirm these points will remain on the account when it becomes silver again.

Make sure automatic renewal is off, first of all. If it's ON, call support and tell them to turn it off. Otherwise, you will be billed automatically when your time is up.

Second, Microsoft points do NOT disappear when you are demoted to silver, they just stay there. I had MSP long before I ever had gold. However, any MSP you earn, win, or otherwise did not buy normally can disappear.

https://billing.microsoft.com - check there, if any points are about to expire, it will tell you. Points you buy normally don't expire until 12/31/9999.

As said, MSP do not disappear, you paid for them, and they are yours to keep until spent! The only points that disappear after a certain time period are promotion points. You will have to read the rules for the promotion on that though as the expirations vary.

i got 130 msp from xbox rewards,will they go? if so how long after the account expires?

I don't think the points from Xbox Rewards expire until 2012 :)
