Hi,

What is the username you're using when signing in? Can you verify if you're able to access other Windows Live services such as Hotmail, SkyDrive, etc?

Thanks!

I had the same issue. What I had to do to fix is go into my google account setting online. Under Security I created and generate app code for Windows Liver Writer. I then pasted that code to my Windows Live Write password. Now it works fine. With all the security settings its starting to get complicated to do things.

Dudes...!  Microsoft has to improve in this regard..

Since Microsoft is using less secured password login, GOOGLE is rejecting the login... Check out this link

http://articles.runtings.co.uk/2014/09/using-bloggercom-blogs-on-windows-live.html

Later I found I got similar email which states as follows...  So, Microsoft, please update with the latest securities with which we can securely log in.

Hi xxxx,

We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account [*** Email address is removed for privacy ***].

Sign-in attempt details

Date & Time: Saturday 4 April, 1:35 pm GMT+5:30
Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India

If this wasn't you

Please review your Account Activity page at https://security.google.com/to see if anything looks suspicious. Whoever tried to sign in to your account knows your password; we recommend that you change it right away.

If this was you

You can switch to an app made by Google such as Gmail to access your account (recommended) or change your settings at https://www.google.com/ so that your account is no longer protected by modern security standards.

To learn more, see https://support.google.com/

Yours sincerely,
The Google Accounts team

Microsoft has not developed Windows Live Writer since 2011. All coding efforts for Windows Live Writer ceased long ago. Luckily, a group of devoted application lovers of Windows Live Writer worked with Microsoft to push the application to free/open source status. It's now called Open Live Writer.

It can be found at OpenLiveWriter.org

Later,
Larry
