What are networkservice and Local service folder in Windows XP

I have got some Win XP Pro SP3 which has a folder in "documents and settings" with the name "networkservice.nt instans" or "localservice.nt instans".

What are this folder used for and can i delete them ?

The Network service and local service folder are system folders which are hidden.

The Network Service folder is and hidden folder in Windows XP Documents and Settings and it is a temporary storage folder for the network services.
