WDDM error message at startup.

Nothing windows related on my computer will load, internet explorer, system recovery, windows live one care etc. a WWMD error message has started to pop up when my computer starts up.

What is the exact error message you are getting?

The Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) is a new display driver architecture supported in Windows Vista. This display architecture is an overhaul of the Windows XP-based display architecture and gives users a better performing, more reliable desktop experience, while supporting new scenarios, graphics, and applications.

Check if you have any latest updates for your Display adapter.

You may uninstall and re-install the drivers from Device Manager.

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button and then type Device Manager in the search box.
2.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Look for the Display adapter drivers, right click on it and select Uninstall.

4. Restart the computer.

5. Windows should install the drivers automatically.
