Windows Defender (Windows 8) schedule option missing

Windows Defender keeps kicking in, scanning my new Windows 8 system, right in the middle of me trying to get my work done.  It slugs the system performance and is very irritating.  I wanted to change the schedule so it only runs at night.  How do I do this?  The previous option (in Windows 7) to set up scan schedule seems to be missing.
