HP dm4-3055dx - unable to use WI-FI after windows 8 upgrade

after I upgraded my hp dm4-3055dx to windows 8 from windows 7. i am only able to connect to the internet with an ethernet cable. when i go change PC settings, i go to wireless and below wireless devices it wont let me turn it on its greyed out. airplane mode is off. my computer has the wifi toggle on the f12 key, every time i press it it just turns airplane mode on or off. i updated the drivers i have looked every where but no luck. it lets me turn bluetooth on. i have the intel centrino(r) wireless-n 6150. it says device is working properly i have installed all the drivers

Hey Alex,

Cool. I was going to suggest a reboot in Safe mode... ;-)

I had another question but it's probably too late. There must be a light somewhere around your f12 key to indicate state of the key and I was curious to know if the light was on or off when the WiFi option was greyed out in Windows. Anyway...
