Samsung Series 3 - Bluetooth not working

I have a Samsung Series 3 laptop model 350V5C-A06 running Windows 8 64bit and am unable to get Bluetooth working. I can add devices (Logitech Wireless Speaker Adapter and iPod) ok however they show as offline and I am unable to connect to them.

The Bluetooth module is listed under device manager as being  Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS and when selecting update driver it comes up with the message that the driver is up to date.

Any ideas of what I should try next?

Thanks.
