Unrecognized Database Format

I was using my database just fine. Then all of a sudden, I was not able to enter anything through a form due to an error. So I closed access and opened it again. Now, whenever I try to open any table or a form linked to a table, I get the error "Unrecognized database format S:\XXX\XXX\xxx.accdb"

Is there anything I can do to recover my database?

Edit:

I dont think it has anything to do with my particular front end. I get the same error when I attempt access in old versions of the front end

PROBLEM SOLVED.

The backend was corrupt. The repair feature fixed it on the front end.

There is a bug currently that Microsoft is currently trying to identify.  So, keep regular backups and hopefully Microsoft will get a fix out ASAP.

First, you should have backups of your back ends and front ends. The back ends, especially, should be backed up regularly.

Access databases are prone to corruption. So you might also consider moving the data to a different engine like SQL Server.

Like i said, this isn't you, but rather a Microsoft problem.

What version of Access are you on. I've heard some issues with the 1803 update causing corruption.

Exactly, the issue was introduced in 1803, so you are subject to this very problem (and many more) until which time Microsoft pushes out an update to fix the issue, but they haven't yet even identified the issue, little alone published an update to fix it.

Hello All.

I was hoping for an update. I am still getting this error at random intervals. No one else who uses the database on their systems are having the same problem.

I am currently running the Version 1806 (as part of the windows insider program) since I've heard that 1803 is having the issue.

Exactly 1803 introduced the issue, so it and all subsequent bills are subject to the bug until Microsoft rolls out an update to address this issue, which they still haven't.  The only known workaround is the DisableLeasing registry hack discussed in the following link
