Registering games

a while ago I purchased Halo Reach, but my dad, while we were setting up the xbox, tilted it on it's side to see if it would work that way. naturally, it didn't. Now i can't play firefight or campaign, even if I play online, and there is a giant hollow circle of scratches on the disc. My question is, is it possible to register the proof of purchase, or a code that came with the game or something so I can download it off of xbox live instead of having to pay sixty dollars for another disc? I'm close to just buying another disc anyway, but I didn't want to waste a bunch of money when there was a way to register it, kind of like on steam when you purchase a game on it, but you didn't download it off of the program.

No, that's not possible. There is a disc replacement and I think that disc is eligible, but it'll still cost about $20.
