Credit Card Ban?

So, I buy 800MS points, then about 2 seconds later, I go to get 400 more, so I can purchase something that was 1200MS points. Simple enough, you'd think. The 800 goes through just fine, then when I go to purchase 400 more, it says my card isn't valid. Checked my bank account, nothing is wrong. The 800 is on there, and a few $1 from MS, which I assume is just them checking for validation or whatever.

I then decide to call XBox Live support, to try and figure out if there is something wrong with my account. Then, (in my opinion) to add insult to injury, the man who answers the phone can hardly speak a word of English it seems. Now, I'm not bashing anyone from any country, or their languages, but it's a hassle when you're trying to get support, and you can't understand what the person is saying. From what I could make out, my credit card was probably banned temporarily (he said, "could be 7 hours or 24.") for repeated use. I just got it in the mail today, and used it ONCE to buy the 800, then twice for the 400, which didn't work.

Is there anyway to figure out how long credit cards can be suspended for on Live? Also, my suggestion to MS, add an option for 1200MS points, considering quite a few games, particularly ones in the arcade section, cost exactly that.]

If you want to call back, you can ask to talk to a billing specialist or a supervisor. Perhaps they can verify that you were indeed the one making the purchases and take the temporary ban off.

I called back and they said I'd have to call my Bank and have them unblock MS? I'm confused.

Well, I called my card company, nothing was denied. The 800 went through, and there's a few $1 for verifications (I assume where I tried to buy 400).

So I called M$ XBox support back, and they said there's no way to override the temp ban or see if that's what it is. I just have to wait 24-48 hours. Brilliant. -_-

i have had the same issue. my card expired and i never got round to changing the details. xbox tried to take a payment from the expired card and so i was left with an outstanding payment. as  soon as i realised i paid the amount, but now i cant get xbox to renew my subscription to gold. to be honest if i cant get gold i may as well go to playstation instead. xbox has however hapilly taken many £s worth of fifa points from the same card. i dont get it.  xbox help say that there is no way to reverse this?
