Can't use or add credit card

Hi,

I have been trying to purchase 1000 microsoft points so that i have enough to purchase the escalation map pack.

I initially tried using the credit card details stored in the system, however, these did not work. I assumed they must be out of date.

I then tried to add my own card details but got an error saying that the card could not be authorized. I then tried adding my parents credit card details and got met by the same error.

 

I tried the same with both cards online and again, same error. I'm guessing it must be something wrong to do with my account.

 

Is there anyway i can fix this myself, or do i have to get in touch with the xbox.com admins etc.

I am having the exact same problem with mine..... i have tried many difrent cardsnow and still not working.... what the hell...

me too. I added the credit card, once, but then it was expired,and i forgot about that,

Later added another one, but gives error and cant buy anything? but onb billing microsoft page, says that i did bought the game!!! but i have no game?? what does this means? confirmation? takes days?

another cards now give the same error, when i try to buy again... (i have not downloaded the game yet)

I was on the phone with Microsoft Support for 2 hours about this. The best they could suggest was to wait "up to 72 hours" to see if the problem resolves itself. Which also seems to mean that I can't spend my purchased Microsoft Points without a valid credit card.

OP: When you say you added "my own card details" do you mean the previous card was a different person's card? Does the entire billing information of your card match the account (name, address, etc)?

Is the billing info a MUST to be equal to the Card? because i have many houses.. that would be stupid right?

i dont even know where to check the billing info, would it need to be exactly the text and spaces???

I am having the same problem. I'm trying to add my card to buy gears of war 2 and am getting an error saying can not accept payment...Very frustrating =[

I called , and they say XBOX is under manteinance? and the system is DOWN? Weird, because i can download other games and use Xbox Live ...

And i just bought 500 points, and then tryed to add more 500, and it wont let me...? If the problem is the billing address, then why it would work the first time? I DONT understand...

I think i will buy the game on the game shop near me.

Same problem here. My account was registered as a UK account and been able to purchase points a few months back. Now I wanted to buy again, and I got some error. Thought I'd transfer my account to Hungary (as I have been planning to do) and try it then. But when I tried to add the card, it said the card number is invalid (it is not, typos checked multiple times, etc.). I posted the problem to some feedback/support form, we'll see... "Happy" to see I'm not alone with this issue. :(
