cant transfer dlc and use on 2nd xbox

Nope you just need to sign into live everytime and use the gamertag that purchased the dlc

Or you can use the drm transfer tool to use them offline at www.xbox.com/drm

The transfer tool is once a year use and only to the same account

You get two licenses a console license which can be used by any profile by the purchasing console or the gamertag license which must be signed into live at al times

so does that mean if i have 5 profiles on a family account the only profile or gamertag that can use the dlc on another xbox in the house is mine the one that actually purchased it and downloaded it

wish id known looks like im gonna have to purchase this twice so one of the other profiles can use it too

If you read the description of the family plan this is stated before you buy the plan

Dlc is only associated with the purchasing gamertag and the original purchasing console

If there is only two consoles then you can use the drm transfer redownload the content using the purchasing gamertag and all profiles on the second console can use it but the first console only the purchasing gamertag can use it by signing into live.

No the 2nd console would be able to use it offline or online whenever the gamertag is on it or not

However the 1st console only the purchasing gamertag can use it online and cannot use it offline

No other profile can use it offline on the first console. If you want to use them both offline then a profile on the 2nd console will have to purchase the content if you want to use them on both consoles offline or by other profiles without the drm transfer

1 the gamertag that purchase it can use it offline or online on the original console and by all profiles

on any other console you can use it online only if the original gamertag is signed into live at all times.

however with a drm transfer to another console using the original purchasing  any profile can use it on the new console offline or online this can only be done once a year

however the console that no longer has the license due to the transfer must have the original purchasing gamertag signed into live at all times to use the content.

its probably easier to buy it on a profile on the 2nd console so all profiles can use it on both consoles without the main gamertag being signed into live

what you can do for a demostration

sign into live on the 2nd console (before you do the drm transfer) with the purchasing gamertag

this will show you what i mean by being signed onto live it must remain connected to use it

but if you try it on the original console all profiles can use it online or offline
