XBOX ONE powers off unexpectedly

I've noticed a few instances involving my console. It turns off by itself, for example moving around the menus, then it turns off. My power brick color changes from white to orange. Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you tried unplugging the power supply and tried using another outlet? Is the Xbox plugged into the wall directly or in a surge protector?

Yeah I got hold of microsoft 3 times and on the 3rd they said I had to either exchange it or send it in. But when u do get a hold of them they will tell u to hold the power button for 10secs then unplug your console completely wait 1 min then reconnect it

Did the power cycle work? Mine is plugged into a surge protector. But it keeps turning off for no apparent reason. always when its idle.

Hey BizarroSup3rman

Sorry for the late response to this. Are you still experiencing this? Has plugging it to the wall helped with the powering off issue? Is it just happening while in the home screen or while gaming/ watching vids?

I am having this problem, after two weeks of my console working perfectly it's suddenly started to power off randomly. Here is what happens:

I will turn the Xbox on as usual

Have use for varying times no more than 30 minutes

Console will shut down as if I have asked it to but not

I can boot the console up again no problem, there are no error messages, no strange noises, nothing. This is what I have tried:

Hold the power button for 10 seconds until console powers off, unplug the console for about a minute or two, plugged it back in. The Xbox will continue to power off randomly

I have the console plugged into an extension. I was sharing the power between my TV, Xbox 360, Blu ray player and speaker system, I thought maybe it was a power problem, I unplugged the Xbox 360 and blu ray player, still, the Xbox One will power of randomly

The console is not overheating due to feeling the machine and there being no error message.

This is very frustrating as I love this console and have had perfect use out of it for two weeks now. If there is anything you can suggest that I've not tried, I would be very grateful, I just need to know if I have to send it away or not, thank you.

Oh, sorry, this will happen at any time, I have not experience it happen during a game but I have had it happen when on the dashboard, in the store and whilst using the Blu ray app (watching a DVD) thank you again.

I am having the same problem. It happens when I'm watching tv or playing a game. I have tried the power trick and that hasn't helped.
