XBOX 360 SLIM recognizing HDMI cable as DVI

Hi,

A few things that you can try and see if it can be sorted:

1. Please try to use different HDMI cable to see your current cable is ok for the Xbox360

2. You can try to reset the video settings:

 a.Remove any discs from the disc tray.

 b.Turn off the console.

 c.Turn on the console.

 Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller.   Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller will have the upper-left light illuminated.

 d.As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold Y while pulling the right trigger. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

3. Please go to Settings>system settings>console settings> display settings in here go to Display discovery and see if it's enabled or disabled. If the option is enabled disable it and it goes for the other way around.

If the console after all these are still won't go HD and no sound you might need to contact support for repair or you can do it yourself on the http://myservice.xbox.com

I ended up using a different cable with a different input on my tv and it worked.
