Modding your avatar?

Apparently this is the new cool thing to do.  I enjoy browsing the support forum to see why people get banned.  It used to be COD infection/prestige lobbies, but now it must be 90% avatar mods being the reason for most of the bans I see.  I mean, really....  Especially funny are the post that go something like: "why am i band i never mod or anything im a paying custumer im going to sue u guys can i plese be unband i wont do whatever i did agin even tho i never mod or anything"  Meanwhile the gamer pic's avatar has blue skin...  Much lols.

Some people just like modding and messing around, I can't lie I think it would be cool if you could have blue skin without having to mod your avatar. Yeah it is crazy how people threaten to sue Microsoft for being banned, lol trying to sue a corporation even if you won your court fees would be astronomical

The only thing I find odd is the double standard that exists in enforcement.

-

You mod your avatar and you get an instant ban. Yet if you mod your gamerscore they issue what is essentially a warning by means of a gamerscore reset.

-

Surely both should merit a warning or both carry an instant ban.

Yes I have to agree. Modding is modding. I do find it funny when a person who mods their GS gets the cheater label here on xbox.com.

i like the fact they are now allowing the banned account to post on the suspension forum, before they had to create a new account just to post the complaint.

i have found myself looking at the persons profile to see if i can guess why they were banned before actually reading the message, and nine times out of ten it just so obvious yet they still claim their innocence.

yes a gamerscore mod should be a permaban too not just a reset.

With so many avatar-mod protests, I wondered if the PET started seeking out the modified avatars and banning them all, rather than waiting for complaints to come in here and there. If so, yay! (Or maybe they just waited until there were a whole bunch of reports and went after them all at once.)

I'd like to see the green, blue, red skin avalible in the avatar skin colors.  I wouldn't do it but I don't see why others can't.

People modding their Avatars is trivial in comparison to the hackers and modders ruining online for others. I can't see why you'd bother modding your Avatar but the suspension thread should be full of cheaters and people who threaten others imho.

It's not an illogical step for some of these kids to go from modding their avatar, to setting up cheats and hacks for online games. I mean they've clearly demonstrated that they have the ability to mod the avatar program, so what is to stop them from say activating God mod/infinite ammo in a game like MW3 or Battlefield in an online match?

I think XBLPET is just saving themselves some future headache by stomping them early, and I do agree that gamerscore modders should be permabanned first offense. So many of the modded avatars/online cheaters seem to have gamerscore resets in their profile.
