Keep lagging out with certain players out of Xbox LIVE parties.

This problem only started a few days ago. Before this, there were almost never any problems. I have a group of friends, around 6-7, but for some reason there are two certain players that whenever they are in the party, I keep lagging out myself or other people lag out of the party. When I leave the party and stay out, nothing else happens in the party. When I am in the party with everyone else but those two players, nothing happens. It is only when those two join the party that it starts to happen, and I have to leave to resolve the issues. My NAT is Open, so I am not sure what is wrong.

Hey there H2O Popopoyotl! Do you know the state of the NATs for your friends that you're having lag issues with? I would have them follow the steps in this guide: support.xbox.com/.../nat-type-strict and make sure that their NATs are set to open as well.

Also, have you checked to see if maybe your friends are having lag issues with their internet connections?

My ping is 26, and my other friends pings are 26 and 4. Both of their NATs are Open.

The problem doesn't just stay with parties, I can not even play multiplayer games with them as it disconnects me from them, around the same time as it disconnects me from the party.

Hey again H2O Popopoyotl! Hmm...Do the disconnects happen when you play multiplayer by yourself, without any of your friends?

Actually yes. I think it may have something to do with my Ping or something. I will lag out of games by myself, and I play League of Legends as well and it also happens in League where I disconnect and reconnect frequently. I should have also mentioned with the Xbox LIVE parties that when I lag out, it puts me back into the party a second later.

Hey again! Okay yeah I'm definitely thinking this has to do with your internet connection. I was having a very similar problem with my internet not long ago. It happened at all times during the day, though it did tend to get worse during the evening (around 6pm to Midnight, when traffic on the net around my neighborhood was worse). I was getting upwards of 35% packet loss and huge lag spikes (anywhere from 25k to 50k) for anywhere from 5 seconds to 15 seconds. This made gaming on Xbox Live and playing League (yeah...I play LoL too =D) nearly impossible. Ever tried to nail an Ahri Charm when your ping spikes up to 30k? Yeah...that's not happening. My ELO suffered horribly. =P

Anyways I would suggest calling your ISP and asking them to investigate the problem. My ISP asked me to monitor the situation for a few days and note the time of each lag spike and how bad it was. So I would suggest going ahead and taking notes so you can have this information ready to roll and get escalated to a Tier 3 agent as soon as possible. I just grabbed a note pad and every time I lagged I would mark down the date/time and how high my ping spiked.

In the end we figured out it was the rack that hosted my neighborhood that had gone bad/broken/whatever you wanna call it. It was causing my entire neighborhood to have issues. They replaced the rack and we were back in business. All that was left after that was to begin the long climb back to Plat. ^_^

Thanks, I will give them a call today and find out what the problem is. >.< I am tired of Leaping with Kha'Zix at a player just to find myself stuck and unable to do anything. I have also found out something unusual, during the day I am able to play with those friends that normally would lag me out, but once it hits past 6pm, I start lagging out with them in the party. Same thing with League, it is kinda ok during the day, but then it goes bad at night. I will start taking notes.

The more you tell me about it, the more it sounds like my exact situation. Sounds like you're okay during the day but around 6-ish when traffic picks up is when you start having problems. I would definitely take notes and call your ISP.

Hmm, that's something that your ISP would be better at helping you with.  For the moment though, I'm going to link this guide: Xbox LIVE Disconnects | Xbox LIVE Slow | Speed up Xbox LIVE . I imagine you've tried a lot of it, but let's make sure!  Also, I'm going to move this thread into the connection forums, in case any of the folks there have more ideas for you!
