Transfer Vista license onto my new computer

I have Window Vista, which I purchased a few years ago on my old computer. I heard it might be possible to use my old Product Code on my new computer since I only used it once!

Is it true that I should be able to use this Product Code up to 3 times on my own personal computers?

I purchased and downloaded the sofware online.

Also How can I find the Product Code that I used?

Thank You!

No.

One Licence = One Installation.

How many times can I install Windows on my computer before I have to activate Windows again?

You can reinstall Windows on the same computer as many times as you want because activation pairs theWindows product key with information about your computer hardware. If you make a significant hardware change, you might have to activateWindows again

If Vista came preinstalled on your Computer, or you bought an OEM Licence/Download, it is classified as an OEM licence and is non-transferable.

The OEM Vista Licence is tied to the original Computer it is installed on, and dies with the Computer.
You can NOT transfer it to another Computer/Laptop

If a Retail Vista Licence, you may transfer it to another Computer/Laptop.
But, it may only be installed on one Computer at a time.

One Licence = One Installation.

If your Vista Operating System is still running and Activated, use either of the above Programs to find your Product Key.
