Is this the Windows 8 System Builder version?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SW-154-MS

I just want to make absolutely certain before I buy it.

I can't get the upgrade version because I've never owned Windows and am using a custom built PC.

Never be afraid to ask. This forum has some of the best people in the world available to help.

Well, I already have an account with Overclockers. I just need to make sure the one I put in the OP is definitely the right version.

It's not very clear because it's just OEM, but I've the system builders version called that.

Yes, it is the OEM System Builder version.

Well, System Builder versions are usually called OEM for short, vendors don't always use the System Builder portion in the naming. Apart from that, they could not be selling a OEM Royalty (Dell, HP, Lenovo etc) copy, since the key for that is embedded with those systems Windows 8 comes preloaded on.

So its safe to buy.

You can also purchase from amazon uk.

Ma'am/Sir,

It happens that in a year I change my motherboard two or three times, can I transfer this version of Windows (OEM) to new motherboards. It is not like those that come with a hardware. Is this transferable? Obliged for any answer.

Sir,

I found my answer somewhere else from yours. Many Thanks

Quote begins:

"Actually the Windows 8 System Builder OEM license is more flexible and can be transferred to other systems or motherboard.

http://personaluselicense.windows.com/en-US/default.aspx,

"Can I transfer the software to another computer or user? You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you. You may also transfer the software (together with the license) to a computer owned by someone else if a) you are the first licensed user of the software and b) the new user agrees to the terms of this agreement. To make that transfer, you must transfer the original media, the certificate of authenticity, the product key and the proof of purchase directly to that other person, without retaining any copies of the software. You may use the backup copy we allow you to make or the media that the software came on to transfer the software. Anytime you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer. You may not transfer the software to share licenses between computers. You may transfer Get Genuine Windows software, Pro Pack or Media Centre Pack software only together with the licensed computer."

You can purchase a license for it from amazon or newegg

. If you need a full version, you will need to purchase the Windows 8 Pro OEM from New Egg. This requires a custom clean install.
