I am about to buy a new PC with Windows 7 home premium they all seem to be with 64bit I have an accounts programme TAS(Sage) and they insist that it would not work on 64 bit, only on 32. Please advise what I can do to overcome this
Hi Peter – Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community.
AFAIK, the 64-bit CPUs are backward compatible with 32-bit (x86), this
allows you to run 32-bit software on 64-bit CPU. Now Windows® 7 (and
Windows Vista™) support this and they include a path on the root-directory.
This is the path: C:\Program Files (x86)\.
Everything that installs under that path is x86 based which means it is 32-bit
software.
