Try checking this ONE check box and reboot:
It's working correctly, you just don't understand nor necessarily need the default. ;-)

how to get it back to normal font and not blurry?
Why did microsoft even tell me to update if they knew there were problems, i just found out that this has been happening to other people in windows 8 and RT8.1 before they released it to public.

no this did not work, it made text to small i changed it to medium and it still was not like it was before also it has changed the arrow size in the firefox top thing where the options are.I did not say to change the size of all items. ;-) Just the highlighted and circled items.

no i edited the reply, i have windows 8 well now 8.1 it might be a bug...the blurry text thingNo - it's not a bug - it's the way that your system is being treated (clear text no longer exists)...
You did REBOOT after checking the box, right?
Anyway... For one of the applications in which the text looks "blurry" (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) - close it and right-click on the shortcut that runs it (so this would be in Desktop Mode) and change the compatibility so that at least the checkbox shown here is checked...
Save that (OK your way out) and run the application again. Anything?
Did you update your video device drivers via the video device manufacturer's web page after you upgraded to Windows 8.1 (likely Intel, AMD/ATI or nVidia...)?
Just in case my original instructions were too sparse...

i did every thing you said and i did what was in the link, and it sort of worked. the font is not blurry anymore but firefox is still not the same and there is another problem, when i am scrolling on track pad it stops and lags when online this never happened before on windows 8. 8.1 is just causing problems, i wasted a whole day trying to get stuff back to normal and i just cant do it. and also now the search on charms bar searches for to much stuff.....maybe i should go to the forums to complain.only if macs didn't cost soo much.....no i edited the reply, i have windows 8 well now 8.1 it might be a bug...the blurry text thingNo - it's not a bug - it's the way that your system is being treated (clear text no longer exists)...

Did you update the other drivers? Check the hardware manufacturer / system assembler for Windows 8.1 driver updates (motherboard chipset, audio, video, network, touchpad/mouse, BIOS, etc.)?

ok i went through all the stuff on device manger and clicked check for driver updates online and it said all drivers are up to date, it took forever by the way.some of the updates on my computer are newer than the ones on lenovo's site but i don't remember updating them i guess it does it automatically.
thank for the help
