see  how many  of us like the classic version better Joseph? so can any of you answer with a sense of logic why you want to kill a good product when there's no need too? when people still want to use the classic version? why not just improve the classic version's design add features and that's it and keep 8 as a beta up until the version is improved and upon the reactions you can decide if it's right to  keep the project or having a new version based on the classic version is even a better idea ? you see that it's not working well for the 8 version  right now so ...

i still need some answers why nobody explained to us up till now why you want to kill the classic version  when it works fine when everyone likes it and it's stable? when you can just improve the classic version add features improve the design and or create a new version based on the classic that everyone likes ? you killed the msn  messenger rip without any reason at all (it lives only in China no  idea why is that either) so some sense of logic and reason wouldn't hurt anyone even if you are rich and don't care about your clients

Please be informed that we're adding features and improving security that's why we're occasionally updating and because of the technological advancements, we came up with the idea of having a shiny new Skype which will have more features available.

While some of the known features of classic Skype is still not incorporated to the app, we're adding them from time to time based on the demand of the customers. We cannot guarantee that all features of classic Skype will be applied to the new versions but we will do our best to meet customers' satisfaction.

I just hope that this new barrel of nuts and bolts will keep split screen, as in the Skype classic so that contacts can be kept separate from the main chat window , if not Im outta here yes gone bye bye

As contacts constantly screwed to the side of the chat window is not workable it takes too much desktop space, too much room......

This is precisely the problem. Going for aesthetics over functionality is moronic. Who are you trying to appeal to? 12 year old girls who like sparkles & squiggly lines?

It's a communications platform. The priority should be a fast, efficient, feature driven application. Not 'this loox sooo kewl omg xD' Stop pandering to millenial hipster cliches, you dimwits. & hire the most skilled developers instead of trying to make quotas to please social media mobs &/or outsourcing to the thirld world to save money that you're likely going to lose by releasing objectively terrible software.

i still didn't get the answers to my questions the classic version is fine stable and in other words working well and people like it what's up with you rich guys wanting to destroy a good product that there's nothing wrong with? when also every update since the beginning was based on the classic version so  you can improve the classic version technically  and add features and improve the design and that's it .....

your idea having a new Skype is not working well for the mass users  as you see here in the community and other places and people don't want to use the 8 version so   if you need a new toy dear rich guys use the 8 as beta yourselves improve the version as much as you can and see if people will like it when it will be presented  when it will be stable good enough and with a clear design and not confusing as it is right now then you can decide if to keep your little toy or let the users have what they need ... which is Skype  based on the classic version
