Build 17083 and two previous builds, Battery Icon not updating

The battery icon is not updating with remaining percentage or uptime remaining. It stays at whatever the power state was at when the computer was turned on.

The battery icon can be forced to update if the power button is held down to force a shutdown and then rebooted. Using either the Restart or Shutdown options in the Start Menu will not cause the battery to update.

This has been ongoing over the last three builds, inclusive of 17083.

Is there anything that I should try to get the battery icon to start updating again?

This is on build 17083, the computer is a Lenovo Yoga 920.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E530 on 17083.1000.  I checked and it was plugged in and at 95% and not charging.  I unplugged and played a game.  I went down to 78%.  Plugged it in and it said it was charging and 2 hours to full charge.  Then I started this post.  I checked and it said it was 1 hour and 53 minutes to full charge but there was no activity but it said 79% and 1 hour 50 minutes to full charge.

I have waited 5 minutes.  Checked the battery icon and it said 1 hour 42 minutes to full charge and unplugged and plugged back in and it said 81%

Hi Guys,

Can you start your PC in safe mode with networking and verify if this is happening just to determine if it's a hardware or software concern.

We look forward to your response.

All the best.

My Lenovo ThinkPad E530 battery icon says it is at 99% now.
This is not using safe mode but just regular mode.

Hello Roberto.

Booted into Safe Mode with Networking. No Battery icon is showing in the task bar.

Booted back into regular mode, battery icon present but still not updating and not displaying estimated time remaining. (currently showing 68% and has been like that for a while now). Image below also shows that there is no notifications for battery life right now.

I am getting 2 notifications,

First is screen brightness at 100%

The other is Sleep is set at Never.

A little note;

I am retired and as an Insider I keep this laptop on my desk where my desktop is.  Both of these can be on for about 16 hours  2 or 3 days a week.  Other days they may be on 8 hours or more.

I do not run email on the laptop but on the desktop.

Further information: I mistyped the computer model it is actually a Lenovo Yoga 910, not a 920. I did boot into Safe Mode, see the post above for details, I've included a screen capture of the Battery section from the settings.

Thank you for the additional information. 17083 is for Windows insiders. The usual fix is to run an update however, if this concern isn't fixed by the update, we suggest letting the Windows 10 developer team know about the concern by posting this on the Feedback Hub.

Update us if you need further assistance.

All the best.
