Spell check is not working in Windows Mail

I use Windows Mail.  I have checked the settings and they are correct.  This is a new problem...just started happening last night.
If you're using WLM 2011, you must enable "Check My Spelling As I Type" to
"awaken" the spell check...

Switch to use another language besides English. Close & open WinMail and switch it back to English.

I had the same problem.  Bruce Hagen's solution worked for me.  I had to install another language first but once done, the previously greyed out spell check is alive!

Thanks

Thanks.  In fact I'm using Windows live Mail 2011 (unfortunately) and Senor Busbar was right - you must enable 'check spelling as I type'.  I read on another forum that this is a bug in WLM 2011.  I loathe having red lines all over my text but will have to put up with it until (hopefully) they fix it.  Wish I'd switched from Windows Mail before the WLM 2009 version became unavailable.

The OP was asking about Windows Mail, not Windows Live Mail, so I assumed that you were as well since this is not even a WLMail forum.

Windows Live Mail Forum

AFAIK, you can go back to WLMail 2009, but I would take that up with the experts in the WLMail forum for the exact details.

OTOH, if I was using Vista, I would not be using Windows Live anything and still using Windows Mail. In fact, this is a Win7 machine and I am using Vista's Windows Mail for news and Thunderbird for mail as I don't care for WLMail in any version.

To each their own though. That's what makes the world go 'round.

Yes, sorry I mistook the Forum.  Thanks for the advice about e-mail clients, though.  Appreciated.
