error C00D1197 with Windows Media Player

Getting  error message    "error C00D1197" when trying to play email attachments or access audio archives from radio station. Running Windows 7 which came already installed. Can someone advise me please??

1. How long have you been facing this issue?
2. Did you make any recent hardware or software changes on your computer prior to this issue?
3. Are you able to play any other mp3 files using windows media player?
4. “when trying to play email attachments” what type of files are they?
