Outlook 2003 Can Not Receive E-mail

Outlook 2003 cannot receive email. I spoke to my ISP Provider and he checked the settings and they were correct and I went to the ISP’s website and my email was there but Outlook was not gathering them. I spoke to a Microsoft agent at answer desk and he gave me options that complemented what the ISP agent said I spoke again to an ISP (Comcast) agent and he confirmed the settings are correct. Something is corrupt…Should I reinstall office suite 2003? I only use Word and Outlook. I can save the email folder so I do not loose anything. Would reinstalling Outlook help?  Do you have a better suggestion? The error message follows:

Task ‘mail.comcast.net - Receiving reported error (0x800408FC): ‘The server name you entered can not be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.’

I am able to go online and the server name is correct verified twice by two agents of Comcast technical support…

I would appreciate any help!

Thank You,

Martin

Go to this link for a fix that worked for me.

IT WORKED! After answer desk said that, it would cost me $99 to try to fix the issue they finally gave me a tech who tried to fix it remotely. He even went into my registry but could not fix it. No one had any idea that the IPv6 protocol is causing the problem. The tech upgraded it to a senior tech who is suppose to call me back today, but I canceled it and requested the answer desk agent pass it on to Microsoft so they can develop an update. Comcast, my provider said they added the protocol IPv6 to IPv4 on June 6, since then what a lot of aggravation. Imagine how many millions this issue affects. THANKS AGAIN Mike Le Faivre!
