If there is any truth in this then the bottom line is...price. Many, many people purchase games for their tablets or Iphones etc. because of the comparison of price to console games. More so now since EA bring about their daft Online Passport, and others
are following Little Bo Peep.
They are alienating the average consumer - I have just posted about the prices on Games On Demand. The greed is unreal, and naturally a lot of people resort to downloading an App and playing a simple, cheap, addictive game such as Angry Birds for example.
Nowhere near as good as a quality console game granted, however, a significant portion of the consumer base are forced to make sacrifices.
Unless they bring in some sort of pricing stabilizer, I can only imagine more and more once "very keen" gamers becoming more casual and opting for the simplistic, cost effective approach to Application and Social Networking games.
