GTA V PROBLEM

Unfortunately since you opened up your console and did an unauthorized repair in violation of section 1.12 of the Terms of Usage agreement no one on these forums is allowed to help you.  Chances are your laser went bad but again, since you opted to open the console up you voided your warranty and Microsoft can no longer repair it.  You will have to purchase a new console.

You may find that your Xbox is actually ok. There have been many reports of GTA5 not working / freezing on old Xbox 360's made or refurbished between 2006 and 2008. The actual cause is not known but could be  to do with the smaller harddrive.

Xbox support have issued the following recommendation, although i would ignore the second disc install.

Delete all GTA 5 game data.

Clear system cache three times.

Delete marketplace data from storage system items.

Unplug console for three minutes.

Install disc 1.

Power off, do not insert disc 2.

Restart.

Install disc 2.

Play.

it is restarting saying about something for the storage if you know help me ;)

Bit long winded but try deleting the game/install data (the 8 GB file) from your hard drive and any non essential saves (if any) and download the game again

You could also try deleting any dlc as this has caused a couple of issues in the past, the content can be reinstalled when your game is up and running by viewing your purchase history.

Finally try the old favourite of clearing you cache as below:

support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

Please note you may need to delete your cache 3 times

Be aware any warranty has been voided by oppening your console

yes i know that thanks.. but i heard that if you format your hard drive it may play..but i have dlc on other games and some purchased games too and i am afraid i will lose them..can i download them again without paying? or i will have to buy them again?

You can download anything you purchased for free again by going to settings/ account/ download history on the console. You do need to be signed into the profile that purchased the items though.

I have this same problem but my console won't even read disk 1 or disk 2!!!! This is an absolute [MOD REMOVED] joke!
