Persona 5 Confirmed for 2014

...on PS3. Exclusively.

Anyone else bummed about this? As an avid Shin Megami Tensei fan and primarily Xbox gamer, I was excited to see Persona 4 Arena on Xbox 360, and hoped that it marked a new era for future Persona games (which have historically been PS exclusives). It sucks that this wasn't the case, and it'll be arriving on last-gen hardware to boot. Guess I got my hopes up too much.

Yeah, same here... I was hoping a Persona 5 on Xbox ONE could be the edge Microsoft needed on the Japanese market.

Maybe there is still hope.

Atlus and all the other JRPG makers are doing the same thing now that they did when the PS3 launched - ignoring the next gen console until they absolutely cannot any longer. Why do you think Persona 3 FES and Persona  4 launched on PS2? Sony was still making the PS2.

If you're playing Persona games and you don't own a Sony console or a DS, you're artificially handicapping yourself.

Well the Japanese do have their favourites don't they? Not fussed to be honest. Those aren't my kind of games.

Only SMT RPG game on Xbox was SMT 9 on the original Xbox, Sure arena is an smt game, its a fighter. Primarily SMT RPG's have been Nintendo, Sega and Sony. Love to see an Xbox release but you'd need Japan on board
