lost my gamertag

Hi, 

Years ago i created a gamertag using iirc my hotmail account, on a friend's xbox to use a free month of xboxlive.  Never used it again.  Just yesterday i got xboxlive on my own for the first time, but i can't get that gamertag back because the hotmail account has been deleted due to inactivity.  so my current windows live ID can't be changed to my old one, and i can't delete my old one because the windows live ID its attached to is itself deleted.  i know the tag exists and is not being used, because it is in fact mine.  i would really really like to be able to use my tag, it's the one i've been using for over a decade across the whole internet, i really don't want to have to use a new one. WHO DO I HAVE TO TALK TO TO GET THAT GAMERTAG DELETED SO THAT I CAN TAKE IT BACK?

I think in this instance the only help you're going to get is by contacting support.  They may be able to do something for you.
