Is The Xbox LIVE Code From Amazon Region Locked?

Hi guys,

I need to renew my Xbox LIVE and I am thinking of buying the code from Amazon. Unfortunately, it says the code will ONLY work on US accounts with US billing addresses. This is what it says exactly:

Subscription Length: 12 Months | Format: Online Game Code
  • Online Game Code: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United States and who have a U.S. billing address.
I have heard from many places that all Xbox LIVE Gold codes are region free(I have a US Xbox LIVE account but I live in the Middle East) so can anyone help me? Should I buy the card instead?

Yes 12 month codes are region free - some 12 +1 cards are region locked.

MS points are Region locked

[/quote] I read that as being about the Amazon sale, not about the region of the code. You say you aren't in the U.S., but does your Amazon account have a U.S. billing address? What about the credit card that you used for the sale? I realize you've already bought the code and used it, but I'm curious about this Amazon "restriction" that doesn't seem to get in the way.
