If I buy a digital copy of a game I already have installed (from cd) do II have to download it again?

pretty much the title. The cd for the game is to scratched to work and if I buy from games on demand will I have to download

Have you tried to install the game to your hard drive from the disc?  If not give that a try.  If you can successfully install the game you only need to have the disc in the drive when you play to prove the game is yours.

If it does not work, you can buy the game online but would have to redownload it for it to work.

A used copy may also be cheaper than a digital copy as well, and you shouldn't need to redownload/install anything.
