COD: Black Ops: Cannot Connect to Server

I'm on Xbox live and I see that my friends are playing COD: BO but when I go to multiplayer->xbox live it has me sitting with a 'connecting...' image for a while and then it pops up:

(NOTICE)

The Call of Duty: Black Ops server is not available at this time. Please try again later or visit http://www.callofduty.com/blackops/status for updates. ( (A) Exit)

I've tried restarting my console, testing my xbox live connection (at first it told me my NAT protection was moderate and so I adjusted my settings by disabling my upnp and I inserted a static ip address and a list of forwarding ports and disabled filtering anonymous calls). I've tried just repeatedly logging in, I've tried signing in and out, rebooting my modem and router... nothing works and I don't understand what the problem is.

I've been experiencing the same thing on and off for the last few weeks I'll be in the middle of a match and then boom the servers supposedly go down and then I get kicked back out to the Dashboard with the same message the Black Ops servers are not available at this time please try again later.

For about two days solid I could not get into the game search lobby because of this.

Rat: Can you confirm what you are experiencing. Are you being kicked from the game/party/chat, or are you losing connection to LIVE completely? Also, please go to http://speedtest.net on a computer on the same network as your console, take the test there, and post the result image back here. Thanks!

I'm having the same issue as Silencher. Someone please help! It's a pain in the rear!

I've cleared my cache, I've reset my router, rebooted the xbox, tired it both wired and wireless. Nothing seems to do the trick. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried a wired connection directly to the modem, bypassing the router?

Hey there G27AR - since this is an older thread, it's unlikely your issue is related. Can you post a new thread after reviewing the START HERE sticky, and trying it's suggestions? Make sure to include the information in bold about your network hardware. Thanks! :)
