Certificate of Authorisation (COA)

Does the code COA sticker on the opening of new xbox 360 games correspond to the actual game i.e. a code? I have just purchased what I thought were two new games that were sealed but have dodgy cases and different from the norm COA's stuck on them. Think they are going back.

COA stands for Certificate Of Authenticity. It is a sticker placed on every new original Microsoft product to prove that it is a genuine product. I know that with Microsoft’s other software pirates have copied COA's and placed them on software box's to make people think it is genuine software.

 

 

If you have any doubts go back to the shop where you purchased your games and ask for replacements. If they are genuine breaking the COA is a sign that you have agreed to the TOC (Terms And Conditions) and may have problems getting money back. Mind you if they are not genuine then the TOC should not apply and you should be able to get your money back.
