I signed into Xbox.com tonight to turn off the auto renewal on my Xbox live account. In order to do so, a security code needed to be sent to my email. I don't use the email associated with my Xbox live account anymore, so I decided to try and update it. I chose to delete the current one and update my account to be my current email that I use the most frequently. I went back to change my auto renewal again but the only email account available was my old one. I went back to double check that I changed my email and noticed that the changes wouldn't go into effect until 2/21/2013. That's a month away! A MONTH!!!.
It's an understatement to call that a terrible inconvenience. The entire point of me logging on NOW is to change my email NOW not in a MONTH. When I contacted Xbox support chat I got to talk to Darryl and the only helpful thing Darryl could do was take me here to file a complaint. Darryl claims that it's for "account protection services". Pardon me if I don't understand how forcing me to wait a MONTH to do something I want done NOW protects my account. I don't understand why I can't change my own account NOW. It's my account! I have my password and all other security information, why should I wait a MONTH!?!
Customer service couldn't help me which forces me to suffer a terrible inconvenience(understatement) at the hands of Microsoft. I am very angry right now, as trying to deal with this has kept me up late and I have an early morning tomorrow.
Thank you, Microsoft, for forcing me to wait a MONTH to take care of the things I wanted to get done TONIGHT and keeping me up late dealing with your helpless customer service. I sincerely hope someone reads this and considers changing the MONTH long wait period for changing emails. I only came here because I was lead to believe this is where one files complaints. If no one reads this, then I just wasted more time on you, Microsoft.
Goodnight.
