Hello rpm119,

1.     What is the exact error message you get related to framedyn.dll?

2.     Do you get this error when trying to open

You can manually try to fix this issue by replacing the framedyn.dll from the dllcache. Here are the steps you can follow:

Replace the Framedyn.dll File:

a.     Click Start, and then click Run.

b.     In the Open box, type ‘%systemroot%\system32\dllcache’, and then click OK.

c.      Right-click framedyn.dll, and then click Copy.

d.     Click Start, and then click Run.

e.     In the Open box, type ‘%systemroot%\system32\wbem’, and then click OK.

f.       On the Edit menu, click Paste. If you are prompted to replace the existing file, click Yes.

Verify System Variables:

Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. If you receive the following error message, click OK:

rundll32.exe - Unable To Locate Component.

This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

If you don’t get this error then you are done, if not follow the below steps:

a.     In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.

b.     Click Environment Variables.

c.      Under System variables, click Path, and then click Edit.

NOTE: If no Path variable is listed, click New. In the Variable name box, type Path.

In the Variable value box, type the following:

%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem

d.     Click OK three times (every time that you have the option).

b.     Double-click the Path value Name.

%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem

I have looked at the above HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment. There are several entries, all seem to be set except one, which is named default, which is not set. SO I have back out without making any changes. Not quite sure what to do next
