Hi
If the laptop is only one day old, I would recommend you take it back to the store where you purchased it or contact the laptops manufacturer and either request a warranty replacement or service.

I have this same problem
Does your BIOS setup screen still show? Some don't even have that and have to connect another monitor to know what is going on. Others have innovative methods of playing blind in order to get to the Advanced Options screen where VGA mode can be enabled.
That's assuming that their keyboard works, of course. ; )
If you are on the lock screen and you think your keyboard is working, try hitting Tab a few times (and make sure that your speakers are turned on. <w>)

None of the keys that google tells me could bring me to the BIOS screen (F1, F2, etc) does anything. I guess I don't really know if my keyboard is working, but I can't imagine what would make the keyboard croak after just a few months.
Do you have anything else you can boot? Otherwise you may have to press those keys before you power on to try to get them loaded for the BIOS to see. E.g. your BIOS boot options may be saying boot "quietly" which means try to boot from the first bootable
device ASAP. "Bootable device" may give you a workaround, again, depending on your settings. E.g. having a bootable DVD, or USB stick, or floppy disc might give you enough time to get into your BIOS screen too. Or at least boot something other than the
problem partition.
I don't know what hitting tab is meant to do, but it does nothing. I don't have external speakers.
Then hitting Tab won't help. Typically, after two presses you would have hit the Accessibility menu which would have let Narrator give you a clue about your location on the screen. Then you could have enabled Narrator and let it guide you around in the
darkness. ; )
FYI

Try pressing esc when you boot your computer. This will stop the boot and probably bring up the list of hot keys to use to access the BIOS.
