Shift key to release caps lock in Windows 8?

In previous versions of Windows there used to be a setting to switch the behavior of caps lock so it could be released/disabled by hitting the shift key. I can't find this setting in Windows 8.

E.g. for Windows 7, the option was available here:
Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards & Languages > Change Keyboard > Advanced Key Settings

Can someone help?

Hi Deacis,

From the issue description it seems that you are unable to find the setting to switch the behavior of caps lock so it could be released by hitting the shift key. I do understand the inconvenience.

Let us perform these steps and check if it helps

a)      Right click on the bottom left side corner of the desktop

b)      Select “control panel.”

c)       Open “Languages” and select “Advanced Settings”.

d)      Click on “Change language bar hot keys” option under “Switching input methods”

e)      Select “Advanced key settings” options from “Text services and input languages” window.

Here you will find the settings to release/disable the CAPS lock option by pressing shift keys.

Hope it helps. For any further Windows related assistance, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.

Regards!
