How to restore files to a new computer using file history

Hi. When we try to restore the files, the new computer says that there is no File History folder on the external drive, even though this folder is visible in File Explorer. It's as though the computer can't recognise the File History folder. We've set up the Administrator Account using the same name and PIN as before. Any help much appreciated.

Hi again. I tried to do those things, but each time, the computer says that no drive can be detected with a File History folder on it. Very strange - not sure what else to try.

I am having the same issues, and i still I have hopes to get some good help here now, so i am grateful to find this thread,  and am staying tuned....

I am having the same problem, and have done my homework to see people having the same problem and its as if microsoft does not directly have a fix or good working guidance

If possible, please confirm or deny that statement.

I am just as happy now to use a 3rd party fix, a different  app. a work around, but it is difficult to again be frustrated by what Microsoft says or does not say.  The hard core techies know what i mean
