What is browser_broker.exe for?

The stock Windows firewall (managed via Windows Firewall Control, WFC), blocked an internet connection attempt by this file. It appears to make the connection attempt when I open Edge and navigate to a webpage.

What exactly is it for? Why does it need internet connection? Edge appears to be browsing fine without giving this file access to the internet.

1 and 2. I already answered those questions; "It appears to make the connection attempt when I open Edge and navigate to a webpage."

This isn't file corruption or anything like that, this is a windows system file located at "C:\Windows\System32\" and I want to know what it's meant for.

So there's no specific reason you guys have it built? In that case, I'll just block it and be done with it...

Amarjeet_Paul, I'm sorry, but how are your replies helpful at all? MrElectrifyer has a valid question that brought me here as well. Instead of answering it or at least honestly saying something like "I have no idea" or "That's confidential" you're posting boilerplate texts. Their purpose is simply to make the impression of being polite and carrying while providing absolutely no useful or at least related information. Apparently that's an easy way to keep people away.

This is 100% standard for this place. Official responses are useless and off-topic. The only helpful responses only ever come from the other users here. Unfortunately I also haven't been able to find what this exe actually does.

"We suspect that the browser_broker.exe is a file related to the browser and its background related functions"

Feedback:  Maybe they failed to mention that Windows is a Microsoft product, developed by Microsoft. How do you not know the answer to the OP's question? For a Microsoft Technical Support Engineer you are completely useless.
