What is browser_broker.exe for?

1. Where exactly do you get this issue? Does it happen when you use Microsoft edge, Internet Explorer 11 or any other web browser?

2. From when is this issue persisting?

Browser_broker.exe problems can be attributed to corrupt or missing files, invalid registry entries associated with Browser_broker.exe, or a virus / malware infection.

More specifically, these browser_broker.exe errors can be caused by one of the below reasons:

• Corrupt Windows registry keys associated with browser_broker.exe / Windows 10 Operating System.
• Virus or malware infection that has corrupted the browser_broker.exe file or related Windows 10 Operating System program files.
• Another program maliciously or mistakenly deleted browser_broker.exe-related files.
• Another program is in conflict with Windows 10 Operating System and its shared referenced files.
• Corrupt download or incomplete installation of Windows 10 Operating System software.

So, please try to run a sfc scan and check.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps to perform an SFC scan.

1. Press Windows key + X key.

2. Select command prompt (admin).

3. Type the below command:

Sfc /scannow

1 and 2. I already answered those questions; "It appears to make the connection attempt when I open Edge and navigate to a webpage."

This isn't file corruption or anything like that, this is a windows system file located at "C:\Windows\System32\" and I want to know what it's meant for.

Feedback:  Maybe they failed to mention that Windows is a Microsoft product, developed by Microsoft. How do you not know the answer to the OP's question? For a Microsoft Technical Support Engineer you are completely useless.
