Windows 10 1903 | DisabledComponents | Registry Key gets deleted automatically

Hello

I keep on adding DisabledComponents REG DWORD to setup IPV4 precedence (required for some legacy applications) & Windows is deleting this key randomly after few shutdown restarts. Ie, the key remains there in the registry for couple of days and all of a sudden deleted during a cold reboot.

OS: Windows 10, 1903 (64Bit, Professional)

1st of all I thought of a possibility because I had CCleaner & the same is famous for deleting registry keys, so uninstalled & found the above said repeating. My laptop is fully updated with Windows Defender as ONE and only threat management software configured.

regards,

Answer

Hello Muralidhar

Thank you very much for the follow up. Actually it was our group policy that was deleting the registry value.

It took a while for us to realize it and after correcting the GPO(s), we were able to overcome the reported situation.

Actually I started a thread with TechNet and totally forgot about this thread. Apologies.

You may close this thread with no further follow ups.
