Intel graphics media accelerator not compatible with windows 10

I have a Samsung ativ smart pc XE500T1C-HC1SG. However when I want to upgrade to Windows 10, Microsoft prompted me that the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator that is in my Samsung ativ smart PC is not compatible.

What should I do? Is there any way I can still install windows 10?

Same here with lenovo thinkpad tablet 2. This is frustrating especially that MS made me wait for this new great system only to learn that it will not work on my tablet. Now rhe quesrion is whether I should get rid of this $folder 5gb big and get rid of rhe getwin app or should i wait for Intel to update drivers which they wont do since they abandoned the hardware causing the problem? Btw I didnt manage to get win10 on any of my devices - on my thinkpad x220 tablet laptop there are like 10 failed updates to win10 caused by some 80040020 error... Pity.

Well. I've also this issue with Asus VivoTab (Intel Atom Processor z2760).

I've asked Asus.

And thi is the answer : "

Dear ASUS Valued Customers,

Thank you for your email.

Intel is currently working on the driver for your VGA to make it compatible with Windows 10. Unfortunately we have no releasedate, but this will be fixed as soon as possible.

I hope to have informed you enough.

Kind regards,"

Very thanks Intel !!!

Had the same issue on my old Lenovo K3011 using the Z2760 CPU but got Windows 10 installed by forcing using windows update.

The Intel graphics media accelerator driver is dated 11/15/2013.

Windows 10 actually shows it without any problems in device manager.

Using Windows 10 right now on the system to type this. 😁

Forgot to mention how I did it

Use regedit and go to the below key.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade]

It should exist, but if not, create it.

Create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value with Name = AllowOSUpgrade

and set the Value to 1 ( or hexadecimal value 0x00000001).

Once you did, open the desktop Control Panel, go to Windows Update and check for updates.  You should now be able upgrade to Windows 10 using normal windows update.

You must use desktop Control Panel windows update, and not the modern Windows Update UI.

I have a couple of identical Asus Vivotab Tf810c which have the Atom chipset with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator.

As a member of the Insider program I downloaded and upgraded one the day after the release to Windows 10 and it upgraded and its still working fine (in fact its this PC I'm using).

I then looked at the other PC running 8.1 and checked the Get Windows icon today and got the message saying it was not compatible with Windows 10 because of the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator!

So not sure how reliable the message is - will try upgrading the other one soon using my Insider download and let you know if it gives any problems

As your Insider, can You trace this information to Microsoft?

Thanks Olaf,

Not very adept at registry so please clarify:

1. OSU update and not State subfolder

2. Having real trouble getting it to look like your dword value and name, especially the value; not sure whether to use hexadecimal or decimal and how to enter the numbers to match yours.

After half an hour so far have in main OSU upgrade folder:

Name, and underneath: AllowOSUpgrade

Type, and underneath: REG_DWORD (This is entered automatically)

Data, and underneath: 0x00000001 (1)

VERY UNSURE ABOUT YOUR = SIGNS AND THE 1/ before 0x00000001

Even a little uncertain about the last bit.  Currently opening my complete apps page and opening Control Panel from there Is that correct?

EDIT: For all those of you struggling as I was, that which I have written above appears to work. Use no = signs. Enter the new key into the main folder as Olaf instructs.  I think that in setting the value, if you enter 1 in hexadecimal you automatically get  0x00000001 in decimal but am not prepared to fiddle with it now for fear of messing it all up! Proceed to control panel as I mention; don't think I have found the aforementioned, "modern Windows Update UI".

My tablet is a year old: Asus VivoTab Smart ME400C Tablet, Dual-core Intel Atom Z2760

Thanks for your help.

Mike.
