Unable to use my domain with office365

When I try to register my domain with office365 I get the message:

The domain is already being used with another Microsoft hosted service, such as Office Live or Live@EDU, and a domain can be associated with only one service. Try one of these things:

  • Remove the domain from the other service, and then try again to verify the domain.

I have removed the domain from domains.live.com and yet I still get this message. Can you help?

Hi MrHinsh,

I do apologize for not being able to answer your concern in a timely manner. Let me help you cancel your service in Windows Live Admin Center.

To cancel your service in Windows Live Admin Center, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Sign in to Windows Live Admin Center by using your administrator Windows Live ID.
2. Under "Your domains", click the appropriate domain.
3. In the navigation pane, click Domain Settings.
4. Click Cancel Service, and then click Yes.

I just want to inform you that when your service is canceled, Microsoft accounts are maintained so that users can still sign in to all other Microsoft services. However, Hotmail/Outlook.com subscriptions will be canceled. This includes any existing Hotmail Plus/Ad-free Outlook.com subscriptions.

If you have other concern or clarification, don't hesitate to inform us and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks!

@Eugene,

That process has already been followed and did not result in the outcome you detailed above.

This is the reason that I am here for support. Please see original request:

You are incorrect, this domain is not configured correctly on office365 and continues to give me the original error message on verification.

I can add it to office365 but I can't use it until it has been verified, and it will not verify as it still detects the deleted domains.live.com configuration. Until this domain is verified on office365 I am unable to configure MX records or to use it for mail.

I am still blocked.

unfortunately they are of the opinion... as the error message states... that my Hinshelwood.com domain is still configured for domains.live.com and they can do nothing until it is un-configured.

Please work with the Office365 team to fix this issue.

Hi MrHinsh,

We apologize for the delayed response. It seems that you're still unable to transfer your domain to Office 365 even if you've cancelled it in Windows Live Admin Center. We have escalated your issue to our Support Specialist for further investigation. Please be reminded that no definite time frame has been given as to when the issue will be resolved. Kindly check back on your post here for time to time for updates regarding the status of the issue.

We highly appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
