Office 365 Login Error

Split from this thread.

I have the same problem with my school account too. I had signed my institution up to OneDrive myself, so there is not any admin for me to contact with regarding my issue.

I would be so pleased if I could get a response from the Microsoft community soon.

Thanks,

Mustafa YILMAZ

Hi Mustafa,

From your description, I’d like to confirm the following information:

  1. Where you want to sign into?
  2. Regarding “I had signed my institution up to OneDrive myself”, please share more details about it. A screenshot may help to look into the issue.

If you are trying to sign Office 365 portal, please use your work or school account. If you get the same error message” We don't recognize this user ID or password” when you sign into Office 365 portal with your school account, that means the wrong user ID or password is entered. So, please contact your IT staff in your school. They help to manage your account.

Regards,

William

Thanks so much for the prompt reply.

Until a few days ago, I used (was able) to login (access) to my school account at "https://*******dutr-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mustafayilmaz_cumh***u_tr" for some months since the day I had signed up at

"https://portal.office.com/start?sku=e82ae690-a2d5-4d76-8d30-7c6e01e6022e"  through my school email address which is "***@****.edu.**".

But for some recent days, I have been facing with the error below when I try to login to edit my files such as one at "https://*******dutr-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mustafayilmaz_cumh***u_tr/_layouts/15/WopiFrame.aspx?guestaccesstoken=kLPVNugh5zDaHM0EltRLhcx7MXORtUzyBQTvZNqFVTo%3d&docid=04b186f1aac534d58a63589bef3947c18&action=view".

Thanks once again for the support.

Hi Mustafa,

Can you access your account at the moment? If not, from the screenshot, please make sure the user ID you input is correct.

Meanwhile, from the link you provided above, please try signing into Office 365 with your account named masta***maz@yourdomain to check the outcome.

Regards,

William

Please consult your IT department or the global admin to help you check if your email address is correct or let them reset password for you.

This is the main point of my issue. There is not any administrator for Office 365 Education accounts at my institution to consult regarding my problem.

I had just signed up Office 365 Education personally (by myself) more than a half year ago at https://portal.office.com/start?sku=e82ae690-a2d5-4d76-8d30-7c6e01e6022e just as I have just signed up for the second time again today at the same URL and with my same school e-mail address with only one main (significant) different that I currently can not access to my previous subscription although I receive "access request"s from users to my same e-mail address (which is a kind of an evidence that my e-mail address is still true and still related with the files in that previous subscription-account).

Hope to see a solution soon.

Thanks again.

Hi Mustafa,

Hi William. Thanks for your answer.

Can you access your account at the moment?

I can currently access to my new (second) account which I have signed up  today (through my same email address) and gives me a OneDrive storage space at https://*******dutr-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mus****az_cum****_**u_tr1/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx while my previous (for my first Office 365 Education subscription) storage space is at https://*******utr-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mus****az_cum****_**u_tr/_layouts/15/onedrive.aspx  (previous one is as ".../personal/userID_domain/layouts/15/onedrive.aspx" and the second-new- one is as ".../personal/userID_domain1/layouts/15/onedrive.aspx" ).

If not, from the screenshot, please make sure the user ID you input is correct.

I can explain the user ID I input is correct by the case (situation) below ;

When I try to access to the files of my previous account, the system forwards me to the "access request" page at https://*******dutr-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mustafayilmaz_cum***yet_edu_tr/_layouts/15/AccessDenied.aspx?Source=https%3a%2f%2fcum***yetedutr-my.sharepoint.com%2fpersonal%2fmustafayilmaz_cum***yet_edu_tr%2f_layouts%2f15%2fWopiFrame.aspx%3fsourcedoc%3d%257B4b186f1a-ac53-4d58-a635-89bef3947c18%257D%26action%3dview&correlation=4990b59d-1009-3000-9581-3f7dc1e97bce&Type=item&name=c1a9ff85-eec5-444f-a00e-5ce3dd83a5f8&listItemId=166 and when I submit my request I receive an email to my school e-mail to accept or deny that request.

But when I click on the link in the message, OneDrive says me : "my email address does not have permissions to access this resource."  at https://*******dutr-my.sharepoint.com/personal/mustafayilmaz_cum***yet_edu_tr/_layouts/15/AccessDenied.aspx?Source=https%3A%2F%2Fcum***yetedutr-my%2Esharepoint%2Ecom%2Fpersonal%2Fmustafayilmaz_cum***yet_edu_tr%2FEriim%20stekleri%2Fpendingreq%2Easpx&correlation=b1e2b59d-6054-3000-9581-301286d507b1&Type=list&name=21cf6e0a-bb56-496c-9b40-fdb55bd72856

Hi Mustafa,

Glad to hear that you can log into Office 365 Portal now. For the previous login issue, the students can try the following steps first if they have same issue:

1.Reset password by yourself via https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/. If you don't have the permission to do that, try step 2.

2.Consult IT department or the admin first to help check the account status or reset password.

3. If there is no IT department or global admin in the school, students may try signing up for Office 365 Education with their school email addresses via https://portal.office.com/start?sku=e82ae690-a2d5-4d76-8d30-7c6e01e6022e.

Let's focus on your current situation. As you sign up for Office 365 Education again with the same email address, it may create a new personal site with this account.

To check the issue from backend, we'd like to collect your account information via Private Message.

Thanks,
Felix
