Wifi wont connect after Windows 10 14959.rs_prerelease.161026-1700 Fast Insider Update

We have a handheld (Brand New GPD Windows 10 bit) with a Broadcom 802.11ac Wireless PCIE as wifi internal card.

We had no issues prior to updating and were running prior fast insider updates.

We can find the wifi network and enter the password but then it comes back with cannot connect to network error

Router is Apple Airport Extreme with WPA2 Personal as security protocol

We have  of course rebooted both modem and router and while we do have internet only wired (using a USB network cable plug in meantime)

We have also uninstalled and reinstalled using all of the three versions of the driver for Windows 10 for the Broadcom (only were able to find drivers for Windows 10)

The diagnostics are as follows:

Nope.  the network troubleshooter and 4 reboots, then troubleshooter 6 more times; deinstall qualcomm atheros 9485 device and reboots did not solve this problem for me.  Wifi is intermittent works for 5 minutes then goes away.

Any more ideas?

Thanks, Brian

Hi

I had the same problem with the WiFi connection. Went through all the standard steps, but what worked was a "dns flush". In your command prompt (start -> Windows System -> Command Prompt) and enter "ipconfig /flushdns".

My connection came back after that. Some other sites say you need to reset and renew the dns, but I didnt need to - just check your connection after the flush.

Hope it helps.

This is what you should try...

I had the same problem and it worked for me...

First make sure the following is done from an administrator account.

You will be typing the following into the CMD console, so make sure it is copied exactly as I have typed it here

(ONLY what is within the quotes).

1. While holding down the Windows key,

press the R key

The Run dialogue should now be open.

2. In the Run dialogue type "cmd" and press Enter.

The command prompt should now be open.

3. Type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter.

4. Type "ipconfig /registerdns" and press Enter.

5. Type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter.

6. Type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter.

7. Type "netsh winsock reset" and press Enter.

8. Restart your system.

That's it...
